Insuring Your Non-Profit's 5K and Fun Run Fundraiser

Fundraising is a necessary part of every non-profit organization and a proven method for raising said funds is through a 5K, fun run, or any other type of run/walk event.  Planning for an event like this doesn’t have to be a daunting task and, compared to other fundraisers, may offer fewer hurdles to jump over.  That said, if you’re planning your first running event, it will probably be helpful to use a guide to plan your 5K

One important step in your planning phase should be determining if your non-profit organization is covered for a special event of this nature, or if it would be necessary to add a special event endorsement.  At CLH Insurance, we have a few niche markets with churches and often times a policy can be written to include these types of events.  In the event your non-profit insurance policy doesn’t include any type of event coverage, we do have the necessary additional markets to handle your needs.

One of the beautiful things about these special event policies is that they can be added very easily and only last as long as you need them.  As you’re probably aware though, injuries can and do happen during that short period of time and you want to be protected from the potential liability from any accidents or injuries occurring at or during your event as well as provide medical payments for any injuries when applicable.

The bottom line is, when planning for your fun run/walk, don’t let an uninsured accident or injury ruin an otherwise fun, inspiring and hopefully profitable outing for your non-profit organization or charity.  Contact us at or give us a call at 636.391.0700 where we’re happy to discuss your event with you in detail and can help provide the tailored protection your non-profit organization needs in order to throw an amazing fundraiser.
